ข้อ ๒๖๗ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย คนพาล ๒ จำพวก ๒ จำพวกเป็นไฉนคือ คนที่ไม่ เห็นโทษโดยความเป็นโทษ ๑ คนที่ไม่รับรองตามธรรม เมื่อผู้อื่นแสดงโทษ ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย

คนพาล ๒ จำพวกนี้แล ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลายบัณฑิต ๒ จำพวก ๒ จำพวกเป็นไฉน คือ คนที่ เห็นโทษโดยความเป็นโทษ ๑ คนที่รับรองตามธรรม เมื่อผู้อื่นแสดงโทษ ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย

บัณฑิต ๒ จำพวกนี้แล ฯ

ข้อ ๒๖๘ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย คน ๒ จำพวกนี้ย่อมกล่าวตู่ตถาคต๒ จำพวกเป็นไฉน

คือ คนเจ้าโทสะซึ่งมีโทษอยู่ภายใน ๑ คนที่เชื่อโดยถือผิด ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย คน ๒ จำพวกนี้ ย่อมกล่าวตู่ตถาคต ฯ

ข้อ ๒๖๙ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย คน ๒ จำพวกนี้ ย่อมกล่าวตู่ตถาคต ๒ จำพวกเป็นไฉน คือ คนที่แสดงสิ่งที่ตถาคตมิได้ภาษิตไว้ มิได้ตรัสไว้ว่า ตถาคตได้ภาษิตไว้ ได้ตรัสไว้ ๑ คนที่แสดงสิ่งที่ตถาคตภาษิตไว้ ตรัสไว้ว่า ตถาคตมิได้ภาษิตไว้ มิได้ตรัสไว้ ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย คน ๒ จำพวกนี้แล ย่อมกล่าวตู่ตถาคต

ข้อ ๒๗๑ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย คติ ๒ อย่าง คือ นรกหรือกำเนิดสัตว์ดิรัจฉานอย่างใด อย่างหนึ่ง อันผู้มีการงานลามกพึงหวังได้ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย คติ ๒ อย่าง คือเทวดาหรือมนุษย์ อย่างใดอย่างหนึ่ง อันผู้มีการงานไม่ลามกพึงหวังได้ ฯ

ข้อ ๒๗๒ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย คติ ๒ อย่าง คือ นรกหรือกำเนิดสัตว์ดิรัจฉานอย่างใด อย่างหนึ่ง อันคนมิจฉาทิฐิพึงหวังได้ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย คติ ๒ อย่าง คือ เทวดาหรือมนุษย์อย่างใด อย่างหนึ่ง อันคนสัมมาทิฐิพึงหวังได้ ฯ

ข้อ ๒๗๓ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ฐานะที่ต้อนรับคนทุศีลมี ๒ อย่าง คือนรกหรือกำเนิด สัตว์ดิรัจฉาน ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ฐานะที่ต้อนรับคนมีศีล ๒ อย่างคือ มนุษย์หรือเทวดา ฯ

ข้อ ๒๗๔ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย เราพิจารณาเห็นอำนาจประโยชน์ ๒ ประการ จึงเสพ เสนาสนะอันสงัด คือ ป่าและป่าเปลี่ยว อำนาจประโยชน์ ๒ ประการ เป็นไฉน คือ เห็นการ อยู่สบายในปัจจุบันของตน ๑ อนุเคราะห์หมู่ชนในภายหลัง ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย เราเห็นอำนาจ ประโยชน์ ๒ ประการนี้แล จึงเสพเสนาสนะอันสงัด คือ ป่าและป่าเปลี่ยว ฯ

ข้อ ๒๗๕ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ธรรม ๒ อย่างเป็นไปในส่วนแห่งวิชชา ธรรม ๒ อย่าง เป็นไฉน คือ สมถะ ๑ วิปัสสนา ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย สมถะที่ภิกษุเจริญแล้ว ย่อมเสวย ประโยชน์อะไร ย่อมอบรมจิต จิตที่อบรมแล้ว ย่อมเสวยประโยชน์อะไร ย่อมละราคะได้ วิปัสสนาที่อบรมแล้วย่อมเสวยประโยชน์อะไร ย่อมอบรมปัญญา ปัญญาที่อบรมแล้ว ย่อม เสวยประโยชน์อะไรย่อมละอวิชชาได้ ฯ

    “Dveme, bhikkhave, bālā.

    “Mendicants, there are two fools.

    Katame dve?

    What two?

  6. 1.3

    Yo ca accayaṁ accayato na passati, yo ca accayaṁ desentassa yathādhammaṁ nappaṭiggaṇhāti.

    One who doesn’t recognize when they’ve made a mistake. And one who doesn’t properly accept the confession of someone who’s made a mistake.

    Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve bālāti.

    These are the two fools.

  8. 2.1

    Dveme, bhikkhave, paṇḍitā.

    There are two who are astute.

    Katame dve?

    What two?

    Yo ca accayaṁ accayato passati, yo ca accayaṁ desentassa yathādhammaṁ paṭiggaṇhāti.

    One who recognizes when they’ve made a mistake. And one who properly accepts the confession of someone who’s made a mistake.

    These are the two who are astute.”

    One who is hateful and hides it, and one whose faith is mistaken.

    These two misrepresent the Realized One.”

    hell or the animal realm.

    Appaṭicchannakammantassa, bhikkhave, dvinnaṁ gatīnaṁ aññatarā gati pāṭikaṅkhā—

    What is the benefit of developing discernment?

    Paññā bhāvīyati.

    Wisdom is developed.

    Paññā bhāvitā kamatthamanubhoti?

    What is the benefit of developing wisdom?

    Yā avijjā sā pahīyati.

    Ignorance is given up.

    Rāgupakkiliṭṭhaṁ vā, bhikkhave, cittaṁ na vimuccati, avijjupakkiliṭṭhā vā paññā na bhāvīyati.

    The mind corrupted by greed is not free; and wisdom corrupted by ignorance does not grow.

  70. 1.13

    Iti kho, bhikkhave, rāgavirāgā cetovimutti, avijjāvirāgā paññāvimuttī”ti.

    In this way, freedom of heart comes from the fading away of greed, while freedom by wisdom comes from the fading away of ignorance.”

    Bālavaggo tatiyo.
