“Bhikkhunī sīlasampannā,
“A nun accomplished in ethics,
- 1.2
indriyesu susaṁvutā;
her sense faculties well-restrained,
- 1.3
Adhigacche padaṁ santaṁ,
would realize the peaceful state,
- 1.4
asecanakamojavaṁ”.
so delectable and nutritious.”

“Tāvatiṁsā ca yāmā ca,
“There are the gods of the thirty-three,
and those of Yama; - 2.2
tusitā cāpi devatā;
also the Joyful Deities,
- 2.3
Nimmānaratino devā,
the gods who love to create,
- 2.4
ye devā vasavattino;
and the gods who control what is created by others.

Tattha cittaṁ paṇīdhehi,
Set your heart on such places,
- 2.6
yattha te vusitaṁ pure”.
where you used to live.”

Kālaṁ kālaṁ bhavābhavaṁ,
time after time, life after life,

sakkāyasmiṁ purakkhatā;
are governed by substantial reality.

Avītivattā sakkāyaṁ,
They haven’t passed beyond substantial reality,
- 4.4
jātimaraṇasārino.
those who transmigrate through birth and death.

Sabbo ādīpito loko,
All the world is on fire,
- 5.2
sabbo loko padīpito;
all the world is alight,
- 5.3
Sabbo pajjalito loko,
all the world is ablaze,
- 5.4
sabbo loko pakampito.
all the world is rocking.

Akampiyaṁ atuliyaṁ,
The Buddha taught me the Dhamma,
- 6.2
aputhujjanasevitaṁ;
unshakable, incomparable,
- 6.3
Buddho dhammamadesesi,
not frequented by ordinary people;
- 6.4
tattha me nirato mano.
my mind adores that place.
- 7.1
Tassāhaṁ vacanaṁ sutvā,
After hearing his words,
- 7.2
vihariṁ sāsane ratā;
I happily did his bidding.
- 7.3
Tisso vijjā anuppattā,
I’ve attained the three knowledges,
- 7.4
kataṁ buddhassa sāsanaṁ.
and fulfilled the Buddha’s instructions.
- 8.1
Sabbattha vihatā nandī,
Relishing is banished in every respect,
- 8.2
tamokhandho padālito;
and the mass of darkness is shattered.
- 8.3
Evaṁ jānāhi pāpima,
So know this, Wicked One:

nihato tvamasi antaka”.
