ข้าราชการตำรวจต้องถือและปฏิบัติตามกฎหมาย ระเบียบของทางราชการ มติคณะรัฐมนตรี และจรรยาบรรณของตำรวจตามที่กำหนดในกฎ ก.ตร. และต้องรักษาวินัยตามที่ บัญญัติไว้ในหมวดนี้โดยเคร่งครัด กฎ ก.ตร. ตามวรรคหนึ่ง ให้มีผลใช้บังคับเมื่อพ้นกำหนดหกสิบวันนับแต่วันประกาศ ในราชกิจจานุเบกษา
