การดำเนินการทางศุลกากร ถ้าได้กระทำในรูปของข้อมูลอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ ให้ถือว่า มีผลโดยชอบด้วยกฎหมายเช่นเดียวกับการดำเนินการทางศุลกากรโดยเอกสาร ทั้งนี้ การนำข้อมูลอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ มาใช้ในการศุลกากรให้เป็นไปตามกฎหมายว่าด้วยธุรกรรมทางอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ เล่ม ๑๓๔ ตอนที่ ๕๓ ก ราชกิจจานุเบกษา ๑๗ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๖๐
