ให้มีผู้อำนวยการสถาบันเป็นผู้บังคับบัญชาและรับผิดชอบการบริหารงานของ สถาบัน และให้มีรองผู้อำนวยการสถาบันอย่างน้อยหนึ่งคน กับทั้งอาจมีผู้ช่วยผู้อำนวยการสถาบัน หนึ่งคนหรือหลายคนก็ได้ ทั้งนี้ ตามจำนวนที่สภาสถาบันกำหนดเพื่อทำหน้าที่และรับผิดชอบตามที่ ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันมอบหมาย
