สถาบันมีอำนาจให้ปริญญากิตติมศักดิ์แก่บุคคลซึ่งสภาสถาบันเห็นว่าทรงคุณวุฒิ สมควรแก่ปริญญานั้น แต่จะให้ปริญญาดังกล่าวแก่คณาจารย์ประจำ ผู้ดำรงตำแหน่งต่าง ๆ ในสถาบัน นายกสภาสถาบันหรือกรรมการสภาสถาบันในขณะดำรงตำแหน่งนั้นมิได้ สาขาของปริญญากิตติมศักดิ์ และหลักเกณฑ์การให้ปริญญากิตติมศักดิ์ให้เป็นไปตามข้อบังคับ ของสถาบัน
