เมื่อปรากฏว่ามีการกระทำที่ก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายต่อมรดกภูมิปัญญาทางวัฒนธรรม ที่ขึ้นบัญชีไว้ ให้คณะกรรมการเสนอต่อรัฐมนตรีเพื่อมีคำสั่งให้ระงับการกระทำที่ก่อให้เกิดความเสียหาย ดังกล่าวได้ เว้นแต่กรณีที่มีความจำเป็นเร่งด่วนหรือเป็นกรณีที่อาจก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายอย่างร้ายแรง ให้รัฐมนตรีมีอำนาจออกคำสั่งระงับการกระทำที่ก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายนั้นได้
