ข้อ ๔ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๕ ประการ ย่อมถูกนำมาทิ้งไว้ใน นรก เหมือนสิ่งของที่เขานำมาทิ้งไว้ฉะนั้น ธรรม ๕ ประการเป็นไฉนคือ ภิกษุในธรรมวินัย นี้ เป็นผู้ไม่มีศรัทธา ๑ ไม่มีหิริ ๑ ไม่มีโอตตัปปะ ๑เกียจคร้าน ๑ มีปัญญาทราม ๑ ดูกร ภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๕ประการนี้แล ย่อมถูกนำมาทิ้งไว้ในนรก เหมือน สิ่งของที่เขานำมาทิ้งไว้ฉะนั้นดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๕ ประการ ย่อม เป็นผู้ได้รับเชิญมาไว้บนสวรรค์ เหมือนสิ่งของที่เขานำมาวางไว้ฉะนั้น ธรรม ๕ ประการเป็นไฉน คือ ภิกษุในธรรมวินัยนี้ เป็นผู้มีศรัทธา ๑ มีหิริ ๑ มีโอตตัปปะ ๑ ปรารภความเพียร ๑ มีปัญญา ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๕ ประการนี้แลย่อมเป็นผู้ได้รับเชิญมา ไว้บนสวรรค์ เหมือนสิ่งของที่เขานำมาวางไว้ฉะนั้น ฯ

Idha, bhikkhave, bhikkhu assaddho hoti, ahiriko hoti, anottappī hoti, kusīto hoti, duppañño hoti.
It’s when a mendicant is faithless, shameless, imprudent, lazy, and witless.

Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ niraye.
A mendicant with these five qualities is placed in hell as if delivered there.

It’s when a mendicant is faithful, conscientious, prudent, energetic, and wise.

Imehi kho, bhikkhave, pañcahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu yathābhataṁ nikkhitto evaṁ sagge”ti.
A mendicant with these five qualities is placed in heaven as if delivered there.”
