    “Akilāsuno vaṇṇupathe khaṇantā,

    Digging untiringly in a sandy waste,

  6. 1.2

    Udaṅgaṇe tattha papaṁ avinduṁ;

    there at the underground stream he found water.

  7. 1.3

    Evaṁ munī viriyabalūpapanno,

    In the same way, a sage with strength aroused

  8. 1.4

    Akilāsu vinde hadayassa santin”ti.

    untiringly finds the peace of the heart.

    Vaṇṇupathajātakaṁ dutiyaṁ.
