ในวาระเริ่มแรก ให้ผู้ดำรงตำแหน่งผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานพัฒนาธุรกรรมทาง อิเล็กทรอนิกส์ (องค์การมหาชน) ตามพระราชกฤษฎีกาจัดตั้งสำนักงานพัฒนาธุรกรรมทางอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ (องค์การมหาชน) พ.ศ. ๒๕๕๔ อยู่ในวันก่อนวันที่พระราชบัญญัตินี้ใช้บังคับ ปฏิบัติหน้าที่ผู้อำนวยการ จนกว่าจะมีการแต่งตั้งผู้อำนวยการตามพระราชบัญญัตินี้
