Six qualities that lead to suffering, and whose absence leads to happiness.

พยาบาทสัญญา ๑ วิหิงสาสัญญา ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๖ ประการนี้แล

ย่อมอยู่เป็นทุกข์ มีความเดือดร้อน คับแค้น เร่าร้อน ในปัจจุบันเทียว เมื่อตายไป พึงหวัง ได้ทุคติ ฯ

ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๖ ประการ ย่อมอยู่เป็นสุข ไม่เดือดร้อน ไม่คับแค้น ไม่เร่าร้อน ในปัจจุบันเทียว เมื่อตายไป พึงหวังได้สุคติ ธรรม ๖ ประการเป็น ไฉน คือ เนกขัมมวิตก ๑ อัพยาบาทวิตก ๑ อวิหิงสาวิตก ๑ เนกขัมมสัญญา ๑ อัพยาบาท สัญญา ๑ อวิหิงสาสัญญา ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุผู้ประกอบด้วยธรรม ๖ ประการนี้แล

ย่อมอยู่เป็นสุข ไม่เดือดร้อนไม่คับแค้น ไม่เร่าร้อน ในปัจจุบันเทียว เมื่อตายไป พึง หวังได้สุคติ ฯ

    “Chahi, bhikkhave, dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu diṭṭheva dhamme dukkhaṁ viharati savighātaṁ saupāyāsaṁ sapariḷāhaṁ, kāyassa bhedā paraṁ maraṇā duggati pāṭikaṅkhā.

    “Mendicants, when a mendicant has six qualities they live unhappily in this very life—with distress, anguish, and fever—and when the body breaks up, after death, they can expect a bad rebirth.

    Kāmavitakkena, byāpādavitakkena, vihiṁsāvitakkena, kāmasaññāya, byāpādasaññāya, vihiṁsāsaññāya—

    Sensual, malicious, and cruel thoughts; and sensual, malicious, and cruel perceptions.

    imehi, kho, bhikkhave, chahi dhammehi samannāgato bhikkhu diṭṭheva dhamme dukkhaṁ viharati savighātaṁ saupāyāsaṁ sapariḷāhaṁ, kāyassa bhedā paraṁ maraṇā duggati pāṭikaṅkhā.

    When a mendicant possesses these six qualities they live unhappily in this very life—with distress, anguish, and fever—and when the body breaks up, after death, they can expect a bad rebirth.

    Nekkhammavitakkena, abyāpādavitakkena, avihiṁsāvitakkena, nekkhammasaññāya, abyāpādasaññāya, avihiṁsāsaññāya—

    Thoughts of renunciation, good will, and harmlessness. And perceptions of renunciation, good will, and harmlessness.
