ฉบับหลวงอันตสูตร · ว่าด้วยส่วนคือสักกายะ ๔

ข้าพเจ้าได้สดับมาแล้วอย่างนี้:

สมัยหนึ่ง พระผู้มีพระภาคประทับอยู่ ณ พระวิหารเชตวัน อารามของท่านอนาถบิณฑิกเศรษฐี ใกล้พระนครสาวัตถี. ณ ที่นั้นแล พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสเรียกภิกษุทั้งหลายว่า ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ภิกษุเหล่านั้นทูลรับพระผู้มีพระภาคแล้ว พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสว่า ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ส่วน ๔ อย่างเหล่านี้. ส่วน ๔ อย่างเป็นไฉน? ส่วนคือสักกายะ ๑ ส่วนคือสักกายสมุทัย ๑ ส่วนคือสักกายนิโรธ ๑ ส่วนคือสักกายนิโรธคามินีปฏิปทา ๑.

ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ก็ส่วนคือสักกายะเป็นไฉน? ส่วนคือสักกายะนั้น ควรจะกล่าวว่า อุปาทานขันธ์ ๕ อุปาทานขันธ์ ๕ เป็นไฉน? อุปาทานขันธ์ ๕ นั้น ได้แก่ อุปาทานขันธ์คือรูป ๑ อุปาทานขันธ์คือเวทนา ๑ อุปาทานขันธ์คือสัญญา ๑ อุปาทานขันธ์คือสังขาร ๑ อุปาทานขันธ์คือวิญญาณ ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เรียกว่า ส่วนคือสักกายะ.

ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ก็ส่วนคือสักกายสมุทัยเป็นไฉน? ส่วนคือสักกายสมุทัยนั้นคือ ตัณหาอันนำให้เกิดในภพใหม่ ประกอบด้วยความกำหนัด ด้วยอำนาจความเพลิดเพลิน มีปกติเพลิดเพลินยิ่งในภพหรืออารมณ์นั้นๆ. ได้แก่กามตัณหา ภวตัณหา วิภวตัณหา. ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เรียกว่า ส่วนคือสักกายสมุทัย.

ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ก็ส่วนคือสักกายนิโรธเป็นไฉน? ส่วนคือสักกายนิโรธนั้นคือ ความดับโดยไม่เหลือแห่งตัณหานั้นแล ด้วยมรรค คือ วิราคะ ความสละ ความสละคืน ความหลุดพ้น ความไม่มีอาลัย. ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เรียกว่า ส่วนคือสักกายนิโรธ.

ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ก็ส่วนคือสักกายนิโรธคามินีปฏิปทาเป็นไฉน? ส่วนคือสักกายนิโรธคามินีปฏิปทานั้น ได้แก่อริยมรรคประกอบด้วยองค์ ๘ นี้แล สัมมาทิฏฐิ ๑ สัมมาสังกัปปะ ๑ สัมมาวาจา ๑ สัมมากัมมันตะ ๑ สัมมาอาชีวะ ๑ สัมมาวายามะ ๑ สัมมาสติ ๑. สัมมาสมาธิ ๑ ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย นี้เรียกว่า ส่วนคือสักกายนิโรธคามินีปฏิปทา. ดูกรภิกษุทั้งหลาย ส่วน ๔ อย่างนี้แล.

    The end that is substantial reality, the end that is the origin of substantial reality, the end that is the cessation of substantial reality, and the end that is the practice that leads to the cessation of substantial reality.

    Katamo ca, bhikkhave, sakkāyanto?

    And what is the end that is substantial reality?

    Pañcupādānakkhandhātissa vacanīyaṁ.

    It should be said: the five grasping aggregates.

    Seyyathidaṁ—rūpupādānakkhandho, vedanupādānakkhandho, saññupādānakkhandho, saṅkhārupādānakkhandho, viññāṇupādānakkhandho—

    That is, the grasping aggregates of form, feeling, perception, choices, and consciousness.

    ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, sakkāyanto.

    This is called the end that is substantial reality.

    And what is the end that is the origin of substantial reality?

    Yāyaṁ taṇhā ponobhavikā nandirāgasahagatā tatratatrābhinandinī, seyyathidaṁ—

    It’s the craving that leads to future lives, mixed up with relishing and greed, taking pleasure there wherever it alights. That is,

    kāmataṇhā, bhavataṇhā, vibhavataṇhā.

    craving for sensual pleasures, craving for existence, and craving for nonexistence.

    Ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, sakkāyasamudayanto.

    This is called the end that is the origin of substantial reality.

    Katamo ca, bhikkhave, sakkāyanirodhanto?

    And what is the end that is the cessation of substantial reality?

  18. 3.2

    Yo tassāyeva taṇhāya asesavirāganirodho cāgo paṭinissaggo mutti anālayo—

    It’s the fading away and cessation of that very same craving no residue left behind; giving it away, letting it go, releasing it, and not clinging to it.

    ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, sakkāyanirodhanto.

    This is called the end that is the cessation of substantial reality.

    Katamo ca, bhikkhave, sakkāyanirodhagāminippaṭipadanto?

    And what is the end that is the practice that leads to the cessation of substantial reality?

    Ayameva ariyo aṭṭhaṅgiko maggo.

    It is simply this noble eightfold path, that is:

    Seyyathidaṁ—sammādiṭṭhi …pe… sammāsamādhi.

    right view, right purpose, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right immersion.

    Ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave, sakkāyanirodhagāminippaṭipadanto.

    This is called the end that is the practice that leads to the cessation of substantial reality.

  24. 4.5

    Ime kho, bhikkhave, cattāro antā”ti.

    These are the four ends.”
