Samiddhilokapañhāsutta
Venerable Samiddhi asks the Buddha what the world is. The Buddha says that the world is present so long as the senses exist.

ข้อความไทยนี้คือ พระไตรปิฎกภาษาไทย ฉบับหลวง ซึ่งแปลจากพระไตรปิฎกบาลีคนละฉบับกับบาลีที่แสดงอยู่ด้านล่าง จึงไม่ได้เรียงตรงกันบรรทัดต่อบรรทัด — อ่านเป็นสำนวนแปลอิสระอีกฉบับหนึ่ง
… ข้าแต่พระองค์ผู้เจริญ ที่เรียกว่า โลก โลก ดังนี้ ด้วยเหตุเพียงเท่าไร จึงเป็นโลกหรือบัญญัติว่าโลก พระผู้มีพระภาคตรัสว่า ดูกรสมิทธิ จักษุ รูป จักษุวิญญาณ ธรรมที่จะพึงรู้แจ้งด้วยจักษุวิญญาณมีอยู่ ณ ที่ใด โลกหรือการบัญญัติว่าโลกก็มีอยู่ ณ ที่นั้น ฯลฯ ใจ ธรรมารมณ์ มโนวิญญาณธรรมที่จะพึงรู้แจ้งด้วยมโนวิญญาณมีอยู่ ณ ที่ใด โลกหรือการบัญญัติว่าโลกก็มี อยู่ ณ ที่นั้น ฯ
ดูกรสมิทธิ จักษุ รูป จักษุวิญญาณ ธรรมที่จะพึงรู้แจ้งด้วยจักษุวิญญาณไม่มี ณ ที่ใด โลกหรือการบัญญัติว่าโลกก็ไม่มี ณ ที่นั้น ฯลฯ ใจ ธรรมารมณ์ มโนวิญญาณ ธรรมที่จะพึงรู้แจ้งด้วยมโนวิญญาณไม่มี ณ ที่ใด โลก หรือการบัญญัติว่าโลกก็ไม่มี ณ ที่นั้น ฯ
